About Us and History of Restaurant

A group of school friends (As, Ali, Tas, Gibbs), we got together and decided to set up a business, having all worked in and experienced the Indian restaurant trade, since leaving school. We therefore thought it would be a good idea to go into business together and open up a restaurant. Flitwick, as a location, came up as at the time there were no Indian restaurants in the area and we realised that there was a gap and demand for Indian cuisine in Flitwick.

Spice opened in December 1999

Our goal has always been to provide excellent food together with great service which is something we pride ourselves on. Because of this we have a lot of regular customers who have been the foundation of our business and enabled us to do consistently well as a business and to build on, year in year out. Because of our popularity, we expanded the restaurant and now have a brand new modern 80 seater premises which can cater for parties, family meals or even just a quiet night out with your partner enjoying some great food.

We serve popular Indian dishes as well as always trying to offer different dishes that are not on the menu. This is something we will continue to do going forward. We have recently started to offer Sea Bass and Lamb Shanks both of which have proved very popular with our customers. Some of our dishes also have some Bangladeshi influences which is the type of food that all of us love too. We can also prepare Kurzi Lamb and Kurzi Chicken (with 24 hours notice) which is a whole leg of lamb or chicken marinated overnight and cooked in the oven with spices and all the trimmings. These dishes can serve 2 to 4 people. Our Gourmet set meals are also very popular where you can enjoy a 5 course meal for a set price which is very good value for money.

Our Bring Your Own Alcohol policy has proved to be very popular since our launch, an innovative idea which in the current economic climate makes the whole eating out experience that much cheaper. People still want to go out and enjoy a nice meal in a good restaurant and our drinks policy hopefully makes this experience better for our customers in terms of costs. A lot of other restaurants are taking our lead and trying this idea. All our customers want us to continue with this policy and we will of course continue with what our customers want.
